The CSE Shariah Index (CSI) has been reviewed and revised on the basis of the performance of the CSE-listed companies. The new index will be effective from May 23, 2024. CSE Shariah index (CSI) is reviewed twice in a year. The new 06 companies which have been included are Asiatic Laboratories Limited, Baraka Power Limited, Far Chemical Industries Limited, Legacy Footwear Limited, Rahima Food Corporation Ltd and United Power Generation & Distribution Company Limited. On the other hand, 05 companies i.e., ACI Formulations Limited, Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC, Saiham Cotton Mills Ltd., Square Pharmaceuticals PLC., and Standard Ceramic Industries Limited were excluded from the previous list. Price fall drives stocks down
Stocks today witnessed downward trend due mainly to price fall in large-cap securities. DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 41.70 points or 0.85 per cent to settle at 4,845. Two other indices also closed lower. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 15.43 points to finish at 1,687 and the DSE Shariah Indexfell 6.95 points to close at 1,123.
