The amount of classified loan in five state-run commercial banks, 39 private banks, nine foreign banks and three state-run specialized banks were at Tk. 546 billion till March, 2015 which is 10.47% of the total loans distributed.
An amount of Tk 522 billion has been distributed from these 56 various kinds of banks during the conditioned time. Finance Minister AMA Muhith said this in Parliament while responding to a written question from ruling party MP Nurunnabi Chowdhury from the Bhola-3 constituency.
Agrani, Basic, Janata, Rupali and Sonali, the state run banks distributed Tk 1007 billion till March 2015, of which Tk 226 billion is classified (22.49 percent).
The nine foreign banks running their business in the country distributed Tk 223 billion as loan and the amount of classified loan is Tk 18 billion.
The amount of the classified loan in the state-run specialized three banks is around Tk. 75 billion, which is 33.46% of the amount distributed.
