Bangladesh and India held their second Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting for mutual cooperation on renewable energy, an Indian High Commission statement said here on Thursday.
“Both the countries agreed to intensify the cooperation in the areas of research collaboration, academic collaboration on renewable energy, information exchange, institutional and technical support,” the statement said.
The Indian delegation was led by New and Renewable Energy Ministry’s adviser AK Dhussa while Bangladesh’s Power Cell division director general Mohammad Hossain headed the host side.
According to the statement, the meeting also agreed on tentative timeframe for series of exchange of visits by both sides focusing on the areas of wind energy, solar energy, bio-gas and Biomass Gasification.
The next meeting of the Joint Working Group will take place in September 2014 in New Delhi.
