DMRC to train Bangladesh officials on ballastless tracks

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will be organising a training programme on ballastless tracks for professionals of urban rail-based systems in the country along with those from Indonesia, Bangladesh and Nepal.

“The three-day programme scheduled to be held next month will focus on various aspects of installation and maintenance of such tracks, which are now being used by most Metro systems including Delhi Metro,” a DMRC official said.

Ballast-less trackThe ballastless technology facilitates the movement of trains in high speed and requires much less maintenance. Most high speed railway networks across the world use this technology.

The training will be given to professionals associated with the construction and maintenance of tracks in rail-based urban transportation systems such as Metro Rail, Suburban Rail and Light Rail.

DMRC’s Training Institute situated at Shastri Park is already imparting training to the recruits of all major Metro systems in India including Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Gurgaon and Jaipur.

It is also imparting training to professionals from Indonesia, Bangladesh and Nepal.
