Dr Sabrina sued for having 2 NIDs

JKG Health Care Chairman Dr Sabrina Arif  Chowdhury has been sued on charge of having two National ID cards. The Election Commission filed a case against her to this regard.

Abdul Momin Mia, election officer of Gulshan Thana, filed the case with Badda Police Station last night, said Parvez Islam, officer-in-charge of the police Station.

According to the case statement, Dr Sabrina who is now in jail for Covid-19 report forgery, secured two National ID

cards in 2009 and 2016.

In the ID card prepared in 2009, she mentioned her name as Sabrina Sharmin Hossain with December 2, 1978 as date of birth while the date of birth on another ID card is December 2, 1983.

The name of her husband on two ID cards is different, police said quoting the case statement.

According to Voter Talika Ain 2009, acquiring dual NID is a punishable offence, the minimum punishment being two years’ imprisonment or fine or both.

Sabrina and her husband Ariful Haque Chowdhuy are accused in a case filed over issuing fake Covid-19 certificates.

Recently, the ACC has begun enquiry on their wealth. During the enquiry, ACC Deputy Director Selina Akhter Moni found Sabrina to have dual NIDs in her possession.
