DSE, CSE both lose on Sunday

Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – experienced loss on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

The DSE benchmark index, DSEX plunged 40.63 points or 0.93 percent to close at 4305.27 on the day. Of the 304 issues traded, 81 gained, 190 declined and 28 remained unchanged.

Shares worth Tk 289.57 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday against Tk 367.69 crore on Thursday.

The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE Were Northern General Insurance, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Modern Dyeing & Screen Printing, Mercantile Bank, Islamic Finance & Investment, Pragati Insurance, Popular Life Insurance, Peoples Insurance, AB Bank 1st Mutual Fund, and Quasem Drycells.

The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were United Power Generation & Distribution Company, MJL Bangladesh, Ifad Autos, ACI, and Shasha Denims.

The CSE key index, CSCX shed 72.28 points to reach 8018.57 at close on Sunday. Of the 226 issues traded, 60 advanced, 145 suffered loss and 21 remained unchanged.

The value of the traded issues was Tk 27.17 crore on the day at the CSE.
