Outgoing Saudi Ambassador honoured

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) organized a dinner in honor of the outgoing Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh Dr. Abdullah Bin Naser Al Busairi on November 29, 2014 at a local hotel. The outgoing ambassador attended the program as Chief Guest. Presided over by Prof. Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, Chairman, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited the program was addressed by Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, President, FBCCI and Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the Bank. Diplomats of different countries, top businessmen, directors and top executives of Islami Bank and social elites were present on the occasion.

4Dr. Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Busairi thanked IBBL for organizing the reception. He mentioned Islami Bank as a bridge of relationship between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. He said that a huge number of people of Saudi Arabia and Middli East have relationship with Islami Bank. This Bank has become the bank of the people because of its investment in low rate of profit, rural development, support in different type of educational institutions. He mentioned that he felt proud of this Banks continuous glory of being the number one Bank of Bangladesh in different parameters. He prayed for continuous development of this Bank.

Mentioning the long term relationship between Banladesh and Saudi Arabia he said that around two million Bangladeshis have tied the relationship of the two countries firmly. He mentioned that the expatriates are keeping important role in development activities in Saudi Arabia as well as contributing in the development of the economy of Banladesh. He said that the support of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh will be continued.

Prof. Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, Chairman, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited in his speech thanked the Saudi Govt. its people and Dr. Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Busairi for their support to Bangladesh and Islami Bank. Islami Bank is the Bank of the people. 57 countries are having share in Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited through participation in IDB. 40% share of this bank is held by persons and institutions of Saudi Arabia. IBBL has given every kind of dividend to its shareholders.

Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, President of FBCCI said that there is an excellent relationship between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. This relation will be continued. We are working to build all banks into Islamic Banks in Bangladesh. We are expecting positive support from the Govt. in this regard.

Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of Islami Bank said that, Saudi embassy kept remarkable role in establishment of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited in 1983. Dr. Busairi provided all-out support to the bank as and when needed. Saudi Arabia is the largest remittance hub for Bangladesh. He believes that bilateral brotherly relations between Islami Bank and Saudi Arabia will be more firm in future.
