Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu voiced deep concern over the spread of the new waves of extremism in region, and lashed out at Tel Aviv for the role it has always played in recent decades to destabilize the Muslim states.
Inu, who is in Tehran to attend the 10th Islamic Conference of Information Ministers (ICIM), told reporters that Takfiri groups, who pretend to be Muslim intend to tarnish the image of Islam.
Meantime, Inu added that the Zionist regime is one of the supporters of these groups.
The Bangladeshi minister went on to say that the Islamic countries’ media should face the Takfiri and terrorists groups’ propaganda with correct and on time information and make world people aware of dangers of British and American Islam.
The 10th Islamic Conference of Information Ministers is to be held in Tehran on December 1-4.
Also, an international conference on World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) is to be held in Tehran on December 9-10.
On September 25, 2013, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani proposed “the World against Violence and Extremism” initiative in his address to the UN General Assembly meeting in New York.
On December 18, 2013, the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly voted to approve President Rouhani’s proposal, which called on all nations across the globe to denounce violence and extremism.
On December 20, 2013, Iran offered to host an international conference on UN resolution adopted based on President Rouhani’s WAVE initiative.
