IPL 7 auction: Shakib sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 2.8 crore

World’s number one all-rounder Shakib al Hasan has been retained by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs2.80 crore at IPL 2014 auctions in Bangalore Wednesday.

The official website of the IPL 2014 said Shakib was brought at Rs2.80 crore at the auction that took place on Wednesday morning.

Shakib’s auction began at Rs1 crore with Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils bidding for the Bangladeshi left-hander. Delhi stepped aside at Rs2.80 crore.

Earlier, Shakib played two seasons for Kolkaka Knight Riders and bagged 23 wickets.

Kolkata’s most expensive players were Jacques Kallis and Robin Uthapa at Rs5 crore each subsequently followed by Yusuf Pathan at Rs3.25 crore and Shakib at Rs2.80 crore.
