Japanese YUASA battery launches Dhaka office

Japanese battery giant YUASA today (Thursday 21 April ) launched its first sales & service centre at Rahman Filling Station at Motijheel in the capital to meet growing consumer demand.

The sales & service centre will sell exclusively YUASA batteries and offer after and pre sales services as part of continuous efforts to enhance customer satisfaction.

YUASA, the largest motorcycle battery manufacturer and 2nd largest car battery manufacturer in the world, has teamed up with Japan Solartech Bangladesh Limited to offer original equipment under a Technical Service Agreement (TSA) in Bangladesh.

Japan Solartech Bangladesh has invested 15 million US dollars to set up a state of the art Photo 2(1)battery factory in Chittagong having production capacity of 30,000 units per month. In Bangladesh, YUASA battery is marketed by Eastern Lubricants Blenders Limited, a subsidiary of state-owned Padma Oil Company Ltd that has 150 years of heritage in distribution of petroleum products.

Mr. Md Abul Khair, Managing Director of Padma Oil Company Ltd (POCL), and Mr. Syed Samiul Huq, Director, Japan Solartech Bangladesh Ltd (JSBL), inaugurated the sales & service centre. Top executives of POCL and JSBL, business partners and valued customers were also present.

Mr. Md Abul Khair said, “YUASA, Asia’s number 1 battery, offers world class quality and best services. Major global automobile brands such as Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Tata and Hino have certified, tested and recommended YUASA battery.”

Mr. Syed Samiul Huq said, “We are developing a completely new channel based on filling stations to ensure real round the clock back up services for the distribution of YUASA battery in Bangladesh.”

“We will inaugurate 3 more sales and service centers in Dhaka city by May this year and four more in port city Chittagong. And by this year all the divisional cities will have at least one sales and service centre equipped with skilled people to ensue prompt after sales services,” added Mr Huq.

While explaining the benefits of maintenance-free YUASA battery, Mr. Reaz Ahmed, Head of Business of JSBL, said, “Compared to the conventional batteries, YUASA battery will give 60 percent more durability because of the use of high quality thick glass mat in the manufacturing process.”

Ahmed added, “YUASA battery will ensure smooth and accurate DC supply to all the electrical and electronic components of cars to have hassle free driving experience.”

Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed, General Manager (Accounts & Finance) of Padma Oil Company Limited was present at the programmme.
