JCD factional clash leaves 20 injured in Feni

A massive clash between two factions of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was held over dominance in Daganbhuiyan, Feni leaves at least 20 people injured. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon.

The injured are Daganbhuiyan Upazila Chhatra Dal convener KM Saimun Haque Rajib, member secretary Touhidul Islam Manik, senior joint convener Ashraful Haque Jabed, upazila Juba Dal joint convener Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Miraj, Sohel, Saddam, Chaudhuri Hridoy, Jitu. The names and identities of the other injured could not be known immediately. The injured are being treated at various places including the Daganbhuiyan Upazila Health Center.

Locals said that the two factions of Chhatra Dal called for protests at Daganbhuiyan Bazar to demand justice for Sheikh Hasina. The clash between the two sides took place over the protest procession. The clash took place between the party of District Chhatra Dal Vice President Jamshedur Rahman Fatik and the party of Thana Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Ashraful Javed. The two sides have been in a dispute over dominance since August 5 last year.

One of the conflicting parties claims that the attack was led by Feni District Chhatra Dal Vice President Kazi Fatik. Daganbhuyan Upazila Chhatra Dal Convener KM Saimun Haque Rajib, Member Secretary Touhidul Islam Manik, Senior Joint Convener Ashraful Haque Javed, and Upazila Jubo Dal Joint Convener Mohammad Nasir Uddin were injured in the incident.

Daganbhuiyan Upazila BNP convener Akbar Hossain said, I heard that Daganbhuiyan Upazila Chhatra Dal called for a procession demanding the trial of Sheikh Hasina. There, terrorists led by Phatik attacked without provocation. At least 20 people were injured in this.
