Pubali Bank Limited (PBL), the then “Eastern Bank Limited” established by Bangali entreprenuers started its journey in 1959. The Bank completed 60 years in banking this year and celebrated its diamond jubilee in the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city recently. Md. Ashadul Islam, Senior Secretary of Financial Institutions Division, Ministry of Finance and Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder MP, Chairman of Bangladesh Redcrescent Society were present as Special Guests at the ceremony.
Azizul Huq, Chairman, Board of Directors of Pubali Bank Ltd. presided over the ceremony. Managing Director & CEO Md. Abdul Halim Chowdhury delivered his welcome speech. Mahfuz Anam, Editor & Publisher of The Daily Star was present as Guest Speaker at the ceremony. Directors of the bank- Monzurur Rahman, Habibur Rahman, Fahim Ahmed Faruk Chowdhury, Md.
