Robi announces Nowshad as CCPO

Robi Axiata Limited (Robi), announced the appointment Matiul Islam Nowshad as the Chief Corporate and People Officer (CCPO) effective from 01 July 2014.

NowshadIn his new role of CCPO, Nowshad will be responsible for the People and Corporate function of Robi. Prior to this role, Nowshad served as the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) of Robi from 2010.

“Nowshad has played a key role in Robi’s transformation journey since 2010. He has successfully laid down the building blocks of our guiding principles and other processes as enablers to put into motion global people practices. His efforts have been endorsed by winning the Axiata People award, 2014 a milestone award for HR Leadership and also the 5th Employer of Choice award presented by the World HRD Congress among others” said Robi Managing Director & CEO, Supun Weerasinghe, adding “his more than two and a half decades of professional experience in people management encompasses areas of corporate affairs, regulatory affairs and board responsibilities of two multinational companies prior to joining Robi.”

Commenting on his new role, Nowshad said that he was “happy to be part of this journey” because the move accentuates the fact that Axiata is deeply committed to building its talent for leadership positions. He thanked the management “for the trust and confidence they have placed on me.”
