Robi contributes to Govt Labour Welfare Fund

Leading mobile phone operator Robi has recently contributed to the Government’s Labour Welfare Fund (Shramik Kalyan Tahabil) for the profit made by the company in 2014. The contribution was made from Robi’s Workers’ Profit Participation Fund (WPPF).

Robi’s Chief Corporate and People Officer Matiul Islam Nowshad handed over a cheque worth BDT 44,416,635 to WPPF PrHon’ble State Minister for Labour and Employment, Mr. Md. Mujibul Haque.

Mr. Md. Faizur Rahman, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment was also present at the cheque handover ceremony.

According to the labour law, the amount was calculated based on the profit made by the company in 2014. Previously, Robi had also contributed to this fund for the profit made in 2012 and 2013.

Robi’s Vice President, People and Corporate Md. Faisal Imtiaz Khan and Vice President, Digital Services, Dewan Nazmul Hasan were also present on the occasion.
