Robi makes online authentication easier

Robi has launched a global authentication solution named Mobile Connect through its Robi e-Care website. Mobile Connect is a globally accepted solution to authenticate users’ identity over mobile phone or any other SIM-based device.

robi-1Robi is the first mobile operator in Bangladesh to have successfully launched Mobile Connect. Very soon Robi users will be able to access various leading e-Commerce website with a single authentication mechanism provided by Mobile Connect.

This solution from GSMA, the apex association of Global Mobile operators, will certainly allow Robi to build towards one of the strongest digital ecosystems. With more than 5 billion SIM cards used globally, a standardized SIM-based authentication solution provided by Mobile Connect could be rapidly deployed to manage today’s multi-screen/multi-device environment.

Mobile Connect offers subscribers a highly convenient way to access not only e-Care but also any e-commerce, banking, health or digital entertainment portal supporting Mobile Connect service by simply using their mobile number in a secure and convenient manner without having to remember logins and passwords. In addition to commercial websites and applications, there is also huge potential to integrate Mobile Connect solution to e-government portals using the same authentication method.
