Robi, Nat’l Finance ink corporate deal

National Finance Limited, a leading financial institution of the country has signed a corporate deal with mobile phone operator, Robi Axiata Limited to avail the operator’s corporate connections with extended digitalized enterprise solutions. The agreement was signed recently at the Robi Corporate Office.

Robi’s Executive Vice President, Enterprise Business (EB), Md. Adil Hossain and National PR PictureFinance Limited’s Managing Director, Saifuddin M. Naser, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

National Finance Limited’s DMD, Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan and Company Secretary Nazmul Karim and Robi’s Vice President, EB, Abul Kalam Md. Nazmul Islam; General Manager, EB, Mustafa Kamal Yousuf and Manager, Ms. Synthia Zaman were present at the signing ceremony.

Robi Axiata Limited is a joint venture of Axiata Group Berhad (Malaysia), Bharti Airtel Limited (India) and NTT DoCoMo Inc. (Japan). The entity ‘Robi Axiata Limited’ has merged with Bharti’s operation in Bangladesh ‘Airtel Bangladesh Limited’ in November 2016 to form the new entity where Axiata holds 68.7% controlling stake, Bharti holds 25% while the remaining 6.3% is held by NTT DOCOMO of Japan. The merged entity is the second largest mobile phone operator in Bangladesh with 33.8 million active subscribers. It provides widest network coverage to 99% of the population with over 12,850 on-air sites of which over 7,700 are 3.5G sites. Robi is the first operator to introduce GPRS and 3.5G services in Bangladesh. The Company has introduced many first of its kind digital services in the country and has invested heavily in taking mobile financial services to the underserved communities in the rural and semi-urban areas.
