Seminar on ‘Bangladesh-China Trade Finance’ in Kunming

 

International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) – Bangladesh, The world business organization is organizing jointly with ICC China and CCPIT a Seminar on Bangladesh China Trade Finance : Role of Banks in Kunming, China on 21-22 August 2015. A total of senior level 44 bankers from 18 Banks including Bangladesh Bank will be participating at the Seminar. This is for the first time that ICC Bangladesh is organizing such a high level Seminar outside the country. Some 60 bankers of Chinese Banks will also be participating at the same Seminar together with Bangladeshi Bankers.

bd-vietnamMr. Mahbubur Rahman, President, ICC Bangladesh will inaugurate the Seminar as Chief Guest while representative from ICC China will also be joining the Event.

The main objective of the Seminar to understand and discuss on the ICC Rules & Tools as well as the requirements of the central banks, country specific laws, new provisions and how the changes will impact trade between Bangladesh and China. The Seminar is also expected to deliver on the issues that the banks and businesses should adhere to in order to avoid risks in non-payment and/or lengthy legal complications in settlements of dues.

ICC Bangladesh President Mr. Mahbubur Rahman is leading the team. Among others, Mr. R. Maksud Khan, Executive Board Member, ICC Bangladesh, Mr. Muhammad A. (Rumee) Ali Chairman, ICCB Standing Committee on Banking, Mr. Md. Ahsan Ullah, Executive Director of Foreign Exchange Department, Bangladesh Bank, ICCB Secretary General Ataur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, Eastern Bank Limited & Chairman, Association of Bankers, Bangladesh Limited Ali Reza MD Iftekhar, Managing Director & CEO, Mutual Trust Bank Limited and Chairperson of SWIFT Member & User Group of Bangladesh Anis A. Khan, Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh CEO Abrar A. Anwar, Social Islami Bank Limited Managing Director Md. Shafiqur Rahman, ICCB General Manager Ajay Bihari Saha and DMDs of commercial banks, will be attending the Seminar.

The team will be leave for Kunming, China on 20 August and expected to return Dhaka on August 23.
