A 5-member delegation of Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) headed by its Chairman came in Bangladesh on 03 September in an official tour. The delegation had a bilateral meeting with the CSE (Chittagong Stock Exchange Ltd.) on the same day in Westin, Dhaka. CSE Chairman Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, Managing Director, Mr. M. Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar, Director, Major (Retd.) Emdadul Islam and Director, Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani welcomed the team.
The SSE delegation team and the team of CSE discussed on bilateral issues and mutual co-operations between CSE and Chinese exchanges. The meeting is the continuation of the last visit of CSE delegation in China in June 2017.
The chairman of SSE had shown his keen interest to know existing features and potentials of Bangladesh Capital Market. They discussed about faster growth rate of Bangladesh Economy, its GDP, overall development and also the untapped opportunities in Bangladesh Capital Market. The Chairman of Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) had also shown their interest to evaluate the proposal of CSE regarding strategic investment.
