Shovon Group inks deal with Robi

 Shovon Group of Company Limited has signed an agreement recently with the second largest mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited to avail corporate solution from the telecom operator at its head office at Fatullah in Narayanganj.

Under this agreement, the employees of Shovon Group of Limited will enjoy special call rate, Picturecall conferencing, close user group facility, MobiReach service, handset bundles, vehicle tracking and many more value added services including internet and share my net service from Robi number.

Md. Adil Hossain, Executive Vice President, Robi Axiata Limited and Iqbal Yousuf Shovon, Managing Director, Shovon Group of Company Limited have signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Md. Enayetul Karim, General Manager, Suman Kumar Biswas, Key Account Manager; Mohammad Afir Uddin, SME Business Manager of Robi Axiata Limited and Taufiwul Islam Antu, Director of Shovon Group of Company Limited were present in the signing ceremony.


Robi Axiata Limited is a joint venture of Axiata Group Berhad (Malaysia), Bharti Airtel Limited (India) and NTT DoCoMo Inc. (Japan). The entity ‘Robi Axiata Limited’ has merged with Bharti’s operation in Bangladesh ‘Airtel Bangladesh Limited’ in November 2016 to form the new entity where Axiata holds 68.7% controlling stake, Bharti holds 25% while the remaining 6.3% is held by NTT DOCOMO of Japan. The merged entity is the second largest mobile phone operator in Bangladesh with 33.8 million active subscribers. It provides widest network coverage to 99% of the population with over 12,850 on-air sites of which over 7,700 are 3.5G sites. Robi is the first operator to introduce GPRS and 3.5G services in Bangladesh. The Company has introduced many first of its kind digital services in the country and has invested heavily in taking mobile financial services to the underserved communities in the rural and semi-urban areas.
