Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) awarded scholarship among the brilliant and poor students of the country. In this regard scholarship award giving ceremony has been organized on 29th April 2017 at Officers Club, Dhaka. The 500 students from different Colleges, Medical Colleges and Universities received the Scholarship for their bright result. The 500 students will be given Tk. 2 crore 47 Lac as Scholarship.
The students of HSC level get Tk. 7000 (Seven thousand) in Onetime for purchasing their books & cloths and the rest amount will be disbursed to their Bank’s account in 23 months 
installment. On the other hand the students of Graduation level get Tk. 7500 (Seven thousand five hundred) in Onetime for purchasing their books & cloths and the rest amount will be disbursed to their Bank’s account in 47 months installment. The students will be able to cash out their scholarship money from any Branch or VISA/Q-Cash ATM Booth of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited. The Bank is disbursing Scholarship among the poor and brilliant students since 2006.
The Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited Engineer Md. Towhidur Rahman presided over the ceremony while the Hon’ble Commerce Minister Mr. Tofail Ahmed, MP handed over the scholarship Cheque among the students as Chief Guest. The Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Foundation Mr. Anwer Hossain Khan delivered welcome speech while the Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Farman R Chowdhury delivered speech at last and expressed his gratitude.
Among others the Vice-Chairman of the Bank Mr. Md. Harun Miah, Directors Mr. Md. Sanaullah Shahid, Mr. Mohammed Younus, Mr. Fakir Akhtaruzzaman, Mr. Khandaker Sakib Ahmed, Mr. Mohammed Golam Quddus, Managing Director Mr. Farman R Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Md. Shahjahan Shiraj, Mr. M. Akhter Hossain Mr. Abdul Aziz and Mr. Md. Giasuddin Ahmed were present in the Scholarship Ceremony.
The Hon’ble Commerce Minister Mr. Tofail Ahmed said, it is a praiseworthy and notable work that Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. rendering its activities towards the welfare of mankind as a part of CSR activities besides the financial activities of the Bank. It is also praiseworthy to make an opportunity for the brilliants to make easy the way of their higher study. Education is the process by which a student can enter into the knowledge world, the Minister also indicated in his speech.
The Chairman of the Bank Engineer Md. Towhidur Rahman said, contribution of Shahjalal Islami Bank is noteworthy to the economic growth of the country and the bank is rendering lots of social activities as its CSR activities. The brilliants are contributing to build up an enrich Nation along with the national economic growth of the country. The young brilliant students of our country are acquiring dignity both in the home and abroad by dint of their merits. The brilliants will be turned into valuable assets in our country if they are given proper financial opportunity. Shahjalal Islami Bank will always stand beside these brilliant students.
The Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Farman R Chowdhury indicated in his speech that Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. is working for the development of the country since its operation inception.
