Nat’l High School Programming Contest kicks off

Organized by the ICT Division, the second National High School Programming Contest is scheduled to start from the 6th of March 2016. Leading mobile phone operator Robi is going to sponsor the national event. Bangladesh Open Source Network will work as the implementation associate of the event and Codemarshal will be the academic associate. Samsung Mobile Bangladesh has announced the mega prize winner of the most exciting “Win a Car” campaign. Polluted air causes 5.5m deaths a year

More than 5.5 million people worldwide are dying prematurely every year as a result of air pollution, according to new research. Most of these deaths are occurring in the rapidly developing economies of China and India. The main culprit is the emission of small particles from power plants, factories, vehicle exhausts and from the burning of coal and wood. Bongo gets ICC’s exclusive video clip rights

Tally of Rohingya minority starts

Bangladesh has begun a count of the number of Rohingya Muslims living on its territory, as reported persecution continues to drive thousands from Myanmar.
