Education UK Exhibition in city from Jan 26
The 19th annual Education UK Exhibition will take place at the British Council, Dhaka University Campus office at Fuller Road for individuals who want to find out how an education experience in the UK will prepare them for an exciting career and give them a competitive edge in the global marketplace. The Exhibition is slated to take place on January 26 and 27 (Thursday and Friday) 2017.
Twenty-one globally renowned UK institutions will participate in the biggest UK education exhibition in Bangladesh. Students are encouraged to come with photocopies of their academic 
IU 37th Founding Anniv observed
Students, teachers, officials, staffs and well-wishers of the Islamic University (IU), Kushtia observed its 37th founding anniversary and 38th IU Day amid great passion, festivity and optimism yesterday.
The celebration was started by hoisting national and university flags at 8:30am on the day.
University vice chancellor Prof Harun-ur-Rashid Askari hoisted the national flag while pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman hoisted the university flag.
At 9 am in the morning all hall provosts simultaneously hoisted national flags and Hall flags on their respective halls.

Story Time: Porte Porte Boro Hoi
The British Council, in partnership with Bangladesh Shishu Academy, today has launched a new nationwide reader development programme titled ‘Story Time’ for the primary and secondary level students in Bangladesh. This year, the programme bears the tagline ‘Porte Porte Boro Hoi’. Children from all over the country can participate in the programme from 64 district libraries of Bangladesh Shishu Academy. This programme aims to reach over 20,000 students from all over Bangladesh.
The main objective of ‘Story Time’ is to develop students’ reading habit both in English and Bangla. There will be two different sets of books for primary and secondary level members to ![]()
Commonwealth scholars meet at British Council
The British Council hosted the Commonwealth Alumni Annual meeting for Bangladesh at its Dhaka University Campus office recently on behalf of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK. For the first time Bangladesh Association of Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows (BACSAF) lead the overall planning, moderation and facilitation of the programme.

Cabinet clears draft Accreditation Council Law
The cabinet today gave the final approval to the draft of “The Accreditation Council Law, 2016” aiming to ensure quality of higher education, particularly the university education, in Bangladesh.
The approval was given at the regular weekly meeting of the cabinet held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
