RMB instead of US$ advised for Sino-BD trade transaction

Bankers from Bangladesh and China suggested introduction of transaction in RMB (Chinese Yuan) instead of US Dollar for International Trade between the two countries. Russian copters with Russian credit

Russia would supply six Mil Mi-171Sh military and transport helicopters and one Mi-171E rotocraft to Bangladesh. The supply is a part of an agreement signed in April 2015, Russia’s Tass news agency reported. Govt to approve proposal for new road to Myanmar

Bangladesh’s economic policy-making body is all set to approve a proposal for constructing a new road to Myanmar, aimed at boosting bilateral trade, an official said Monday. South African Deputy Minister to arrive today

The Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation’ Ms Nomaindiya Mfeketo’ will pay working visits to Bangladesh and Nepal from Wednesday to Friday this week. It will be the first ever visit by a South African Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation to both countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1994. Bangladesh-Vietnam talk trade ties

They vowed to lift bilateral trade to 1 billion USD by 2016 from 800 million USD in 2014; convene the third meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic, Trade, Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation soon; and launch a policy consultation mechanism between the two Foreign Ministries. They agreed to effectively realise a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on agriculture, fisheries and animal livestock and another MoU on rice trade.
