NEPAL: Blood in the hands of the government
The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has expressed concern regarding the excessive use of force by the police, which resulted in the killings of around 19 student members, including a 7-year-old child, on 8 September 2025 in Nepal.
More than an estimated 500 young people who called themselves “Gen Z” were also injured during the anti-corruption protest, and after the government decided to shut down social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube. Protests were carried out all over the country, and curfews have been placed in many cities of the country.
India revokes transshipment corridors for Bangladesh
India has officially revoked the transshipment facility that previously allowed Bangladesh to export cargo to third countries via Indian land borders. However, the Indian government has clarified that exports to Nepal and Bhutan, which transit through Indian territory, will remain unaffected.

The basketball team of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has emerged as the unbeaten champion in a highly competitive tournament in Nepal, bringing home the university’s first-ever international trophy.
The tournament, titled "Bright Vision International College Presents 1st 3X3 International University Basketball Championship," was held on February 9, 2025, and featured six universities from Bangladesh and host Nepal.
