October remittances rise 7pc
Money sent home in October by Bangladeshis working overseas rose nearly 7 percent from a year earlier to about $1.1 billion, the central bank said.
In July-October, the first four months of the 2015-16 financial year, Bangladesh received about $5.03 million in 
remittances, down 0.16 percent from a year earlier.

Navy chief visits India
Bangladesh Navy chief Vice Admiral Muhammad Farid Habib on Monday arrived in India on a four-day visit to review the existing cooperation between both the navies and explore future avenues, an official statement said.
