VLCC to expand presence in Bangladesh

India-based global wellness brand VLCC today signaled its rising commitment to the Bangladesh market by announcing a plan to double the number of slimming, beauty and fitness centers it currently operates in the country.

At the same time, VLCC also stated its intent to establish its 1st vocational training facility for beauty and nutrition in Bangladesh and enhance the distribution network for its VLCC Natural SciencesTM range of personal care products here.

Currently, VLCC operates two Slimming, Beauty & Fitness Centers at Dhaka, located at Gulshan and Dhanmondi. The VLCC Natural SciencesTM range of skin-care, hair-care and body-care imageproducts is also available at most leading outlets in the Bangladesh capital and other cities.

Explaining the rationale behind VLCC’s decision to expand its presence in Bangladesh, VLCC Group Founder Mrs. Vandana Luthra said, “VLCC has received an overwhelming response in Dhaka ever since we started operations here in 2011. Not just our Slimming, Beauty & Fitness Centers, but also the VLCC Natural SciencesTM range of skin-care, hair-care and body-care products has proved to be a huge success here. The decision to expand our presence in Bangladesh is in line with our mission of making preventive healthcare and wellness accessible to all sections of society in this country.”

Outlining VLCC’s future plans for Bangladesh, Mrs. Luthra said VLCC has already finalized its decision to establish a state-of-the-art, hi-tech company-operated VLCC Slimming, Beauty & Fitness Center at Chittagong and is also exploring an opportunity to set up a similar facility at Sylhet through a franchisee. Moreover, the company also exploring the possibility of setting up its 1st VLCC Institute of Beauty & Nutrition in Bangladesh in the next 12 months, so that more youth could take advantage of the cutting-edge training provided by the institute to find jobs or become self-employed in the hugely promising beauty and wellness domain.

“Given that the beauty and wellness sector has traditionally employed more women than men, focusing on skill development in this arena will also contribute in a big way to the cause of women empowerment in Bangladesh,” Mrs. Luthra pointed out. “I also hope that VLCC’s growing presence in Bangladesh will further contribute in some humble way to strengthening the bilateral business relationship between India and Bangladesh,” Mrs. Luthra added.
