International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) – Bangladesh, The world business organization is organizing jointly with The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VCCI) a workshop on “International Trade Finance, ADR, Logistics and Business Development” in Vietnam on 21-23 April 2016 for Bankers from Bangladeshi banks. Around 88 bankers from 21 Banks including Bangladesh Bank and 20 commercial banks and also from Energy Ministry, Petro Bangla, NBR, Bangladesh Navy & Law Firm, some 80 bankers and businesses of Vietnam will be participating at the workshop together with Bangladeshi bankers.
The main objective of the Workshop is to allow the Bangladeshi bankers to interact with their counterparts in Vietnam and to understand international trade finance scenario as well as ICC rules & tools based on real life cases and guide them to undertake secure and successful international trade and finance as well as to avoid risks in cross-border transactions. The workshop will also help the bankers in understanding the new provisions and how the changes impact users with the confidence and legal certainty to trade in unfamiliar markets and save both time and money. The workshop will be case study driven to achieve maximum practical benefit in everyday Documentary Credit Operations and Risk Management.
ICC Bangladesh President Mahbubur Rahman will lead the team. Among others, ICCB Executive Board Members R. Maksud Khan; Mahbub Jamil; Aftab ul Islam; Kutubuddin Ahmed; Mohammad A. (Rumee) Ali, CEO Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre; Mohammad Shahjahan Khan, former President DCCI; Mr. Anis A. Khan, Managing Director & CEO, Mutual Trust Bank Limited; ICCB Secretary General Ataur Rahman; ICCB General Manager Ajay Bihari Saha; ICCB Asstt. Manager Shakayet Hossain and Senior Officials of commercial banks will be attending the Workshop.
The team off to Vietnam on April 19 and expected to return Dhaka on April 24.
