YKK Bangladesh conducts Global Marketing Forum

YKK Bangladesh Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of YKK Holdings Asia engaged in manufacturing of garment accessories like zipper, button, snap, hook & eye, and rivet & burr, organized its 9th Global Marketing Forum in Chittagong and Dhaka, this week.

YKKKosuke Miimi, CEO and president of YKK Bangladesh opened the event, which discussed global trends and new specifications for garment manufacturers.

The marketing forum was attended by about 500 professionals from the Bangladeshi readymade garment (RMG) sector. These professionals exchanged views with YKK global officials on various aspects of the industry.

At the Marketing Forum, YKK officials shared latest market information and strategies, and also conveyed information regarding the threats and opportunities for global apparel market.

Senior officials from YKK Group who participated in the discussions included Lisa Kelly, manager Global Marketing of YKK (USA) Inc; Matthieu Boulay, key account manager from YKK Europe; Ohashi Teppei, senior marketing manager from China National Marketing YKK Shanghai; Alson NG, regional marketing manager from YKK Holding Asia-Singapore; Kaori Uehara, marketing coordinator from YKK Holding Asia-Singapore; and Aya Shigematsu, design coordinator, Product Innovative team from YKK Europe Ltd.

YKK Bangladesh started its manufacturing unit in 2002 in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone. Since then, it has been supporting Bangladeshi garment manufacturers and exporters in overcoming their challenges.

YKK had expanded its manufacturing operations in 2005 and then again in 2011. So far, the company has invested US$ 91 million, and it further plans to invest additional $79 million by 2016.

Established in 1934 in Japan, YKK Group currently operates in around 60 countries and employs 40,000 people around the globe. (RKS)
