Clash at BAF Base in Cox’s Bazar leaves 1 dead

The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) base in Cox’s Bazar came under an unexpected attack today (24 February) by a group of miscreants from the neighbouring Samiti Para area, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

"In response, the Bangladesh Air Force is taking the necessary measures to address the situation," stated a press release signed by ISPR Assistant Director Ayesha Siddiqua.

Midnight protest at DU, demands home adviser’s resignation

In a late-night demonstration, a group of Dhaka University (DU) students staged a protest on campus, demanding the immediate resignation of Home Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, citing a surge in crimes across the country.

The protest began at 1:30 am on Monday on the university campus.

BIDA streamlines customs with AEO status for 10 cos

The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) on Sunday granted Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status to ten business entities, aiming to facilitate trade by streamlining customs procedures.

Similar to the "Green Channel" system at airports, AEO status enables companies to bypass certain customs checks, expediting the clearance of goods at ports. This is expected to reduce production and export lead times while alleviating congestion at ports.
