AHRC appeals for UN intervention to save Bangladesh people
The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has written an open letter to UN Assistant Secretary General Oscar Fernández-Taranco for UN intervention in normalising the situation of Bangladesh, as soon as possible, for the sake of saving lives, livelihood, and liberty of a poverty-stricken nation.
Signed by AHRC Executive Director Bijo Francis, the letter was sent to Taranco on the eve of his crucial visit to Bangladesh when the country plunged into deep political and constitutional crisis.
The UN Assistant Secretary General is set to visit Bangladesh tomorrow (December 6).
First national conference of BCA held at DU
The first national conference of Bangladesh Crystallographic Association (BCA) on ‘Crystallography in Bangladesh’ was held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium of Dhaka University (DU) on Thursday.

Govt permits 5 PCBs to collect online MRP, MRV fees

Security forces need to respond in non-partisan way: HRW
“With election sentiments at the bursting point, Bangladeshi security forces need to overcome their long history of using unlawful force against opposition protesters and respond in a way that is professional and non-partisan.” said Brad Adams, Asia director at the Human Rights Watch (HRW).

Continuous political turmoil in Bangladesh is leaving a burnt hit in cross-border trade with neighbouring India.
