“Nobody has the right to destroy the RMG sector. It is our pride,” said President of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed. FBCCI President was speaking at an emergency opinion meeting at BGMEA Bhaban in the city before meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
A 23-member delegation of FBCCI and BGMEA met the prime minister at Ganobhavan at tonight to discuss the adverse impact of the worsening political violence and the sabotage at the garment industries.

Japan for peaceful, inclusive polls for better Bangladesh interest
Japanese Ambassador to Dhaka, Shiro Sadoshima urged all the Bangladesh political parties to engage in a constructive dialogue to find a mutually acceptable solution for holding the coming general election in a free, fair, credible, inclusive and peaceful manner in the interest of Bangladesh’s future.
In a statement on the political confrontation and recent violence in Bangladesh, the Japanese envoy on Monday called upon the political parties to end violence for creating an environment for a peaceful election.
“We urge the leaders of all the political parties to take all possible measures to end violence,” the statement said.

CPD to host trade dialogue on sidelines of Bali confce
Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), a civil society think tank of Bangladesh, will organise a dialogue on ‘Integrating Trade Issues in Post-2015 International Development Framework: Ongoing Debates and Potential Opportunities’ on Thursday (Dec 5) in Bali, Indonesia.
The CPD, as part of the Bali Trade and Development Symposium (TDS), will host the event on the sidelines of the ninth WTO Ministerial Conference to be held on December 3-6.
The theme of the event is ‘International Trade Governance and Sustainable Development’.
