Banglalink will observe Compliance week from 3-7 April to lead in its digital transformation

Future is digital. As the country moves toward the digital revolution, Banglalink, the second largest Telecom operator in Bangladesh is also shaping itself to be prepared for this journey. It also believes that digitalization has its enormous opportunities and comes with some risks too. Compliance, being one of the key drivers for a sustainable business growth in digital space, Banglalink believes the awareness and practice of ‘compliance’needs to start from within the company and eventually will spread out to all the avenues a digital companyhas to work including its business partners. Keeping this at the fore front Banglalink has declared the first mobileweek of April 2016 as the Compliance awareness week. Banglalink believes that this initiative will set an example for others in the industry to follow.

For a company to be competitive and agile, the employees also need to be highly efficient. Having well defined processes, taking best compliance practices from aroundthe world, getting oriented to the latest technological advancements would make them prepared for being better professionals. Banglalink aims to enrich its employee’s capabilities through running awareness of these initiatives.

Banglalink’s Code of Conduct (CoC) sets out Banglalink’s business principlestogether with guidance to explain how they apply in practice to every Banglalink employee.In the days to come, Banglalink will also drive and ensure compliance awareness and practices to all of its business partners starting from vendors, suppliers, product sellers and resellers etc.

Erik Aas, Banglalink’s Managing Director and CEO said that to be more Agile and Competitive in the market, one has to be more digitalized and well oriented on compliance risks. He also added “We are preparing ourselves for a new journey, a journey towards being more agile, competitive, process oriented and of highest ethical standards. Observing this compliance week will set an example in the industry on being compliant and drive us towards a better business growth.”

To ensure the best practices inside and out of the organization, Banglalink has a dedicated and established compliance team to ensure all employees as well as Business Partners understand its Code of Conduct. The team is working to build awareness among all stakeholders, conduct regular session and continuously appraise to inculcate a strong ethical culture.
