Bank Asia SME activities lauded

A high level delegation comprising of Principal Secretary of Prime Ministers’ Office and Governor of Bangladesh Bank visited financial inclusion activities taken up under SME programs of Bank Asia in Sirajdikhan Upazila in Munshiganj district and expressed satisfaction over the change in micro business activities.

In presence of Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Principal Secretary of Prime Ministers’ Office Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor of Bangladesh Bank is exchanging views with the beneficiaries of Daniapara pottery cluster of Sirajdikhan SME/Agri Branch of the Bank during a visiting to the cluster in Sirajdikhan Upazila in Munshigonj district on Saturday (19 Dec., 2015). Chairman of Bank Asia Mr. A Rouf Chowdhury is also seen with the high level delegation of the government.

Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Principal Secretary of Prime Ministers’ Office and Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor of Bangladesh Bank went round activities of Daniapara pottery cluster of Sirajdikhan SME/Agri Branch of the Bank on Saturday (19 Dec., 2015). They enquired about the problems the beneficiaries are facing and the supports helping their business. They also exchanged views with 10 Taka account holders.

Chairman of Bank Asia Mr. A Rouf Chowdhury, Chairman of the Bank Executive Committee Mr. Rumee A Hossain, District Commissioner of Munshigonj Mr. Md. Saiful Hasan Badol, President & Managing Director of Bank Asia Mr. Md. Mehmood Husain and Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Md. Arfan Ali and Mr. Muhammed Zahirul Alam accompanied the team.

During the visit beneficiaries of pottery cluster apprised the delegation that the provided SME loan helped them producing various pottery items mainly yogurt pot which they are supplying in various markets of Siradikhan and Sreenagar upazilas. Many of the beneficiaries informed that they already opened DPS with the Bank and depositing money regularly.
