The 11th session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) will begin today at 5pm aimed at placing the country’s national budget for 2016-2017 Fiscal Year (FY)).
President Abdul Hamid summoned the parliament session exercising his power bestowed upon him by Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will place the national budget for 2016-17 FY on June 2.
Parliamentary Secretariat Sources said all preparations have already been taken ahead of the budget session.
The duration and proceedings of the session will be finalized at parliamentary business advisory committee to be chaired by Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chuadhury at 4 pm on June 1.
Besides the budget related proceedings, the source said numbers of important bills are expected to be placed and passed during the session.
Earlier, the 10th session of JS was held from April 24 to May 5.
