Best presented Annual Reports honoured with ICAB
Finance Minister AMA Muhith as chief guest handed over the 13th ICAB National Awards for Best Presented Annual Reports 2012 among the winners at a ceremony at Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Saturday. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh gave the awards to banks, insurance companies, non-government organisations and public sector entities for publishing transparent reports and maintaining good corporate governance.

BIA holds 26th AGM
The 26th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) was held in the Hotel Purbani International in the city on Friday.
Chaired by Sheikh Kabir Hossain, President of BIA, the meeting was largely attended by the chairmen, managing directors and senior executives of member companies.
In the Annual Report, it was stated that the total premium income of private sector life insurance companies rose from Tk. 59,735 million in 2011 to Tk. 62,483 million in 2012 registering a growth of 4.60 per cent.
