Leather products export to reach $ 6bn by 2021

Export of leather products including shoes would be $six billion by 2021 if 16.5 percent cash incentive is given. Boosted by ready-made clothing sales, Bangladesh's total goods export income in the first four months of the current fiscal (July 2016-June 2017) grew about 7 percent year-on-year to nearly $11 billion, an official said on Monday. Remittance on the decline

Remittance’s slide continues for the third straight month in Bangladesh, after the month of October saw receipts decline 8.18 per cent year-on-year to $1.01 billion. Migrant workers sent home $4.26bn in the first four months of the fiscal year, down 17.31pc year-on-year. The government has set a goal to export five billion US dollars from the leather and leather goods industry under Vision 2021 which marks the 50 year anniversary of independence.
