Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on Thursday announced that the gazette notification banning Jamaat-e-Islami and all its front organizations will be published shortly. "I think the Home Ministry will publish the gazette notification in this regard shortly. The government decided to ban Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Chhatra Shibir, and all their front organizations in line with section 18/1 of the Anti Terrorism Act," the minister stated during a press briefing at the ministry this noon, reports BSS.

Govt forms judicial inquiry commission over Recent violence

The government has established a three-member judicial inquiry commission to investigate the recent incidents of violence, including deaths, sabotage, arson attacks, looting, criminal activities, and damages that occurred during the quota reform movement across the country from July 16 to 21. The commission is headed by Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman, with Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Mohammad Showkat Ali Chowdhury serving as its other members

HSC exams rescheduled again, starting August 11

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for August 4 have been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The information was disclosed in a notification signed by Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, Chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Education Board. According to the notification, the postponed exams under all education boards will now commence on August 11. The new schedule for these exams will be announced later through a formal notice.
