Tender issued to import 50,000 T wheat

Bangladesh has issued an international tender to buy 50,000 tonnes of wheat, the latest in a series of tenders as the country looks to replenish reserves, a procurement official said on Monday. Pay commission likely to be announced today

The government is likely to announce a Pay Commission on Sunday for recommending raising the salaries and allowances of the government officials and employees, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said. “We won’t be able to constitute a permanent Pay Commission, and Pay and Services Commission right now because there is a need for enacting law for this. We’re now forming a Pay Commission, which will be a temporary one,” he said.
