Bangladesh, Nepal sign MoU to eliminate TBT

Bangladesh and Nepal today struck a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to eliminate the technical barrier to trade (TBT) to boost bilateral trade. Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology inked the MoU at the end of two-day Commerce Secretary Level meeting at the secretariat. 4 deals inked with Kuwait to bolster ties

Bangladesh and Kuwait today signed four agreements in different fields including investment, military cooperation and road communication aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between the two countries. Bangladesh develops ‘portable incubator’

Bangladeshi and US scientists have developed an innovative ‘thermal blanket’, designed to save the lives of premature babies in resource-poor countries. Made from locally available materials, the ‘portable incubator’ incorporates chemical warming pads to provide essential heat and is both user-friendly and safe. The exothermic pads are commercially available and commonly used for relieving joint and muscle pain. Country reels under intense heat wave

The entire country continued to reel under scorching heat as the mercury shot up to 40.6 degrees Celsius today making it one of the hottest days of this year. Meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) Fazlur Rashid told BSS that the country will get no respite from the hot weather because heat wave is likely to sweep over it during next few days. Poverty prevent people from accessing potential housing options, and make others hard to sustain. There are significant linkages between housing and poverty. These have impact on people's lives and livelihood. As such, these linkages deserve greater attention so that they can be properly addressed.
