BD imports from top 10 source countries more than 67pc

67 per cent imports of Bangladesh are now coming from top 10 source countries. In the last fiscal year (FY) 2015-16, the countrys total exports were valued at $36.75 billion. 500 drinking water fountains with public toilets in city

Mohammad Sayeed Khokon, Honorable Mayor, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) announced that 500 drinking water fountains to be set up in important places of the city along with modern public toilets. 4cr people remain food insecure in Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s four crore people have remained food insecure although the country has achieved food sufficiency and improved access to food, according to the World Food Programme (WFP). In its Strategic Review of Food Security and Nutrition in Bangladesh, the UN agency said an alarmingly large number of people still remain food insecure and hungry: one-quarter of the population was food insecure in 2014, which amounts to 40 million people. Among them, some 11 million people were found to suffer from acute hunger. Even larger numbers remain vulnerable to food insecurity in the face of periodic shocks.
