A ten-member business delegation, led by Salman F Rahman, former president of FBCCI and Vice Chairman of Beximco Group, will leave Dhaka for Saudi Arabia today (Friday) as part of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 5-day official visit to KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).
The prime minister’s Saudi visit is considered very significant as Bangladesh holds huge potential to attract Saudi investment, a press release said.
“As Bangladeshi products such as home textile, jute and leather goods, ceramic, frozen fish, halal meat, vegetable and dry food have huge demand in KSA, we will discuss ways to expand opportunities for Bangladeshi products,” said Salam F Rahman.
Moreover, as Bangladesh is progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, energy, education, construction and medicine sectors will get special priority in meetings with Saudi authorities, added Salam F Rahman.
The Bangladeshi business team will also have a meeting with Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry where investment potential and opportunities in Bangladesh will be highlighted.
The delegation team is also hopeful to attract Saudi investment since the country has already gained confidence of KSA by exporting skilled and semi-skilled manpower.
The other members of the delegation team are FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad, first vice president Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, vice president Mahbubul Alam, director Md Nazrul Islam Mazumder, BGMEA President Md Siddiqur Rahman, advisory committee member of Bangladesh Aushad Shilpa Samity Abdul Muktadir, managing director of Abdul Monem Sugar Refinery Ltd ASM Mohiuddin Monem, chairman of S Alam Group Mohammed Saiful Alam and managing director of Meghna Group Mostafa Kamal.
