Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has welcomed Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman and Bangladesh Bank for positive step for the capital market.
The central bank issued a circular on December 20, 2016 by relaxing banks capital market exposure rules. According to the circular, the BB excluded banks’ equity investment in its stock market subsidiaries from the calculation of the banks’ capital market exposure.
“This is very positive move for the capital market,” said CSE Chairman Dr. Muhammad Abdul Mazid appreciating the BB initiative.
“The move is the testimony of Bangladesh Bank’s attention and positive attitude towards capital market. It will help banks comply the investment rules easily. “
