Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir has sought cooperation from overseas by sending letters to recover the heist money of about $81 million from Bangladesh Bank (BB) account with Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
BB executive director and spokesperson Subhankar Saha told journalists that the governor has 
recently sent letters to Bangladesh permanent representative of United Nations, President of the Board of Governors of Federal Reserve System and Philippine’s central bank governor and chief of anti money laundering council as part of the efforts to recover the money.
He also said BB governor today held a meeting with all high officials of the central bank and underscored the need for further strengthening the IT (Information Technology) security system to check repetition of such incident.
He also urged the officials to work attentively and efficiently according to the BB manual to regain the confidence of country’s people.
