Bangladesh Bank set a rare example of promptly resolving a problem in context to Bangladesh by allowing online payment of visa application fees through International Credit Card (ICC) or virtual card as per requirement of concerned high commissions and embassies. The business leaders of International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) conveyed their thanks and appreciations to the Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman, relevant Department and Bangladesh Bank for such an encouraging It should be noted that recently IBFB leaders failed to make online payment of visa application fees.
Being informed by concerned banks about certain restrictions on online payment of visa application fees IBFB leaders raised the issue to the Governor of Bangladesh Bank on 4th October 2015 and requested him to withdraw the restriction so that the entrepreneurs can ease and speed up their visa application process to visit different countries for business purposes. The Governor instructed then and there the concerned Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank to review and resolve the problem within shortest possible time. In this context, Bangladesh Bank issued a circular on the same day giving permission of online payment of visa application fees and instructed concerned banks and financial institutions to take all necessary measures to implement it for greater benefit of the nation.
IBFB leaders are very much happy with the prompt action taken by Bangladesh Bank. It is a privilege for IBFB to convey its cordial thanks and appreciation to the Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman and all his team members in the central bank. IBFB believes that the business persons as well as all citizens of the country will be much benefitted from such remedial measure. IBFB also believes that a problem, whether it be small or critical, be of trade & commerce or law & justice or of any other kinds, immediate solution of it is very essential. If such rare example of promptly resolving a problem set by Dr. Atiur Rahman and his central bank could be established in all spheres of the state, the economic development of this country could be sped up and implementation of Vision 2021 of the Govt. would be easier.
