The members of International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) will get some preferences for US Visa under the US Embassy IBFB Business Visa Program. The Consular Section of US Embassy is going to introduce this Business Visa Program (BVP) in partnership with IBFB which is now in the final stage of launching, hopefully in the month of June 2014.
As explained in a recent letter from Mr. Fehrman, Benjamin, Second Secretary, US Embassy to IBFB, this program will provide expeditious handling of business travel visa applications with the goal of making the application process more predictable and convenient for IBFB affiliated business travelers.
Under the US Embassy IBFB Business Visa Program, the BVP applicants having membership with IBFB and applied through regular procedure with a reference letter from IBFB will be guaranteed an appointment within two business days.
An IBFB Member having US Visa will get preference to renew her/his visa within three business days. The family members applying and travelling together with BVP applicants will also be eligible for BVP appointment slots. In addition, an IBFB member will be eligible to nominate an employee of her/his own organization for BVP, provided that their expenses in the United States must be funded or reimbursed by the IBFB member.
Mr. Fehrman, Benjamin in presence of Mr. Jemmy B. Fouss, US Consul General in Bangladesh briefed the IBFB Members on this US Embassy IBFB Business Visa Program in the 9th Annual General Meeting of IBFB held on 24th April 2014 at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka. The Consular Section of U.S. Embassy Dhaka strongly believes that this program will enhance bilateral trade and investment to the economies of Bangladesh and the United States.
