The authority of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has decided to keep the students’ dormitories fully vacant for 10 days during the Eid Holidays to evade any unpredictable incident.
From July 14 to 23, all dormitories will remain closed for renovation of the dormitories and also to maintain security on the campus, confirmed JU registrar, Abu Bakr Siddique.
The decision was taken at the last Syndicate meeting which was held on May 28.
Earlier, on the occasion of Holy Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festivals of Muslims, JU authorities gave 61 days vacation marging two vacations.
