Prof Monirul Hasan Khan of Zoology Department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has received ‘Bangabandhu Award in conservation of wildlife-2015’ from Ministry of Environment and Forest for his outstanding success.
The Environment and forest ministry will hand over the award soon.
Earlier, on June 1, the government declared Dr Prof Monirul Hasan Khan’s name in a gazette notification as an awardee for 2015.
Meanwhile, JU vice-chancellor Prof Farzana Islam congratulated Dr Monir for his achievement.
Dr Monir joined JU Zoology Department in 2005. He took PhD degree from Cambridge University of England by achieving commonwealth scholarship and promoted to a professor in 2014. He also earned several awards, including Zoological Society of London Award and Future Conservationist Award.
