Laptop loan for girl students    

The government has taken an initiative to provide loan to second year students of Eden Girls’ University College at a lower interest rate for purchasing laptops. The decision was taken at a tripartite meeting held on Thursday at the office of the Principal of Eden Girls University Collage, aiming to facilitate their entry into enormous web-based knowledge bank making the best use of Information Communication Technology (ICT).

english medium schollEducation Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan, Principal of Eden Collage Professor Husne Ara, Managing Director of Trust Bank Limited Ishtiaque Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director Abu Zafar Mohammad Hedael Ullah and Head of Retail Banking Mahuda Momen, among others, attended the meeting. At the meeting, the Trust Bank Limited agreed to provide loan at 9 per cent interest for purchasing laptops under Refinance Schemes of the Bangladesh Bank.

“Laptop loan for students is not only supporting them for e-learning but also creating an opportunity to improve their ICT skills, which is useful for earning money and ensuring wider access to job markets,” Education Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan said.
