Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, who was critically injured in a gun attack on 12 December, has passed away while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital.

Inqilab Mancha confirmed his death in a Facebook post tonight (18 December).

Bangladesh on track to achieve energy efficiency goals ahead of 2030

Bangladesh’s decade-long efforts to improve energy efficiency are showing significant results, with the country on course to achieve its 2030 targets ahead of schedule, according to a new report by the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA).

Titled “Bangladesh’s Energy Efficiency Goals Within Reach, the report, authored by Shafiqul Alam, Lead Energy Analyst for Bangladesh, IEEFA South Asia, highlights that targeted energy efficiency measures have saved the country billions of dollars in fossil fuel imports while delivering economic and environmental benefits.

Bangladesh advances responsible AI agenda thru’ multi-partner cooperation

Bangladesh has taken a significant step in shaping its national approach to responsible usage of AI with the launch of the AI Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) Report, a collaborative effort led by the ICT Division with support from UNESCO, UNDP, a2i and funding from the European Union.
Unveiled in Dhaka, the report provides a comprehensive national picture of Bangladesh’s readiness to adopt AI in ways that protect rights, promote inclusion and strengthen public institutions. It follows months of consultations with government agencies, technical experts, academia, private-sector organisations and civil society.
