A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jahangirnagar University (JU) and the University of Milan was inked on Sunday here on the campus. JU Treasurer Prof Dr Abul Khair and Prof Gianluca Vago, Rector of the University of Milan signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
The objective of the MoU is to promote higher education and research facilities, seminar, to exchange education and administrative information, to realize joint research projects, direct exchange of students and to joint scientific publications and to exchange views between the two institutions, a press release said.
Teachers and researchers of Zoology and Microbiology departments including Biological Sciences will take advantages from the bilateral agreement, also adds the release.
Prof Farzana Islam, Vice Chancellor of JU, Prof Abul Hossain, pro-VC of JU, Prof Abdul Zabbar Hawlader, Acting Dean of Biological faculty, Prof Anwar Khasru Pervej of Micro-biology Department, Prof Abdus Salam and Dr Kabirul Basher of Zoology Department were present at the function.
